My uncle years ago Hip me to this radio station back in 1969 called KBCA. I was a young kid from Texas and i was first introduced to Jazz when i use to bring my mom her Hot Comb so she could make her hair straight. She would put on this album with Eddie Harris. The Title was "Eddie Harris Goes To The Movies" I still remember every song on that Album. He was so smooth on his Sax. My Uncle and I and his Employee's would use to listen to it in his Auto Body shop in Los Angeles. Well I was hook on Jazz and have followed that station until it's demise when KABC went to court to challenge the Stations call letters. Needless to say, KABC won and KBCA had to change it's call letters to KKGO which didnt quite fit with the famous call letters of KBCA. It died a early death too just KBCA did. Fast forward to the Present and I'm still listening to jazz but not on the Radio since they dont play the smooth jazz that i'm use to listening to. Thank God for Podcasting. I can now share with you some of the "Smooth Jazz" that my uncle use to listen to. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
